This great mosque found inside the Salah el Din Citadel overlooking all of Cairo was built by Mohamed Ali in 1830, its alternative name is the Alabaster Mosque because of its appearance. This great Mosque is one of the landmarks of Cairo and a main tourist attraction because of the warm feeling one gets in this mosque and its important place in history. Inside the mosque you will find a tomb of Mohamed Ali Pasha, and outside you will see a panorama of all of Cairo. Whether you are a tourist or an Egyptian you must visit it, at least once.
