My Partner and I were very excited when he proposed whilst in Hurghada a week ago. We choose First Jewelry near to the Seagul Hotel in Hurghada to make our ring which they assured us they could do it. This was to be even more special because on our return my partner was leaving for the Falklands going within the week of our return from holiday for the next 27 months. On the first day back in the UK a stone fell out but we gently got through our engagement and leaving party as it was only a couple of hours. Wanted to make sure all the other stones were secure I took it into my own jeweler in town. I was mortified to learn the jeweler couldn't do anything within as they couldn't guarantee that my other stones wouldn't fall out sooner rather than later and that there wasn't enough surrounding gold to grip the stones safer. So now I am left on my own (he leaves tonight), with an empty engagement ring finger and £750 the worse for the privilege. I can't even afford a trip back to Hurghada to get it fixed! The whole experience has left me heartbroken and I just can't stop crying when I think my engagement should be such a happy time. Any suggestions as to what I can do? I know it was very stupid but we paid by cash! Can anyone please help make it better because at this moment I am just so unhappy?
