Try going into Gourmet Egypt for just one thing and coming out with that only. Myself, I just can't do it. Between the fresh, imported meats and the selection of seafood, it's easy to find several meals worth of 'ingredients'. The cheeses, crackers, spreads are all awesome as well. I especially like the Boursin Herbed cheeses but they're not always available. Not to worry, a replacement can easily be discovered!
I was delighted to know there's a new branch opening close to where I live (Dandy Mall); although they're never a second late. I've tried their sauces; I highly recommend the Mrs. Balls original chutney great as a dip or with a cheddar sandwich. Their new range of potatoes & appetizers. Do not expect your local store prices though, also you should visit their store since not everything is on the website.
Gourmet Egypt is THE place to go if you want to splurge and get that 100% super tender steak which you want to spoil yourself with. I have bought from Gourmet many times and I have never been disappointed with the quality of their products or the quality of their service. You can order online or go to their flag ship store which is located close to Carrefour on the Ring Road (next to Adidas/Timberland outlet store). They have a wonderful selection of Australian beef as well as great seafood and some gourmet food items (hence the name) such as aged balsamico vinegar, special spices and sauces, frozen blue berries (highly recommended for creating deliciously tasting smoothies) etc. The steaks are out of this world. they are full in flavor and so tender that they melt in your mouth. However they come at a price. Expect to pay between LE 200- 300 per kg (2 large fillet steaks cost app LE 100- 150) but I would say it is far better in value compared to many restaurants where you pay the same for a steak but of a much lesser quality. The extra virgin olive oil is one of the best I have tasted and their corn on the cob is a great option when the local corn is not in season. Definitely worth a visit
