Located on the busy 'shops' section of Rd. 233, I highly recommend a walk through of the Moroccan Konooz store. A family run business, the staff is friendly and if there is something you want, but maybe in a different color, ask. They often will be able to find or order this for you. The store offers an authentic variety of hand-painted ceramic bowls, vases, tables and mirrors. I have since bought two beautiful Moroccan "Henna" lamps. Henna lamps are made by stretching goatskin over a wrought iron frame and then hand-painted. The detail put into each piece is amazing - I have yet to find two pieces alike! Also, it was here where I picked up a FREE copy of the Maadi Gallery Guide. It's a helpful brochure showcasing all furniture and accessory stores in Cairo, including a map.
